How long have you been shopping and/or selling resale?
Since the eighth grade! I remember I wanted a Juicy Couture sweatsuit more than I have ever wanted anything before. My mom (correctly) told me she couldn't justify spending that much on sweats. She told me to look on eBay and I was hooked! I was able to find two on eBay for the price of one at Nordstrom.

What are your favorite places (physical and/or digital) to shop fashion resale?
In Denver I love Common Threads. Online, I love eBay and The RealReal. You can find some great deals on eBay auctions. The trick is to always look for the ones that have the Authenticity Guarantee check mark and always look for trusted sellers. Before buying, I always look at the negative reviews and if any of them mention selling fakes, I move on.

What are your favorite places (physical and/or digital) to sell fashion resale or consign?
I try to sell high value items and jewelry on try to sell high value items and Jewelry on TheRealReal because they give you a bigger cut of expensive items. Everything else I (mostly) sell in-person at Common Threads in Denver, they do a 50/50 split on everything so it’s better margins on things that sell for less than $300 because they give you a bigger cut of expensive items.

What is your favorite piece you’ve ever purchased resale?
So many things! I think everything but my socks, underwear, and swimsuits were purchased resale at this point. Recently, I won two Authenticity Guaranteed auctions on eBay. One for a black Chloe Faye bag for $355 and another for a black Medium Saint Laurent Niki bag for $500! I have been looking for these two bags for years now which makes me love them even more. It’s like a treasure hunt.

What makes you feel confident?
Doing really well at work. I love my job and when I do well it makes me feel confident in every aspect of my life. Also: compliments.

What’s something you’re proud of?
My 3 year old son, Eddie. And, I recently finishing a 12 month home remodel without losing my mind.

What is one of your current ambitions?
To have more fun! The last three years at work have been non-stop and I want to spend more time outside with people I love.

What makes you laugh?
My 4 month old English Bulldog, Ghost. She is a meatball with legs. Also my husband when he’s on a rant about something insignificant.

What’s your go-to resale shopping or selling tip/advice?
Know your measurements! I like to measure the clothes that I love the fit of instead of measuring my body. It helps me visualize better how things will fit.

Be patient and know everything comes back around. On The RealReal I always favorite things and check back everyday. It only takes a couple minutes and things go on sale really fast. If you miss out on something, trust me there will be more, just keep looking.

Do your research and have a buy price in mind. The RealReal is great because they show you what the recent sold prices are for that item. For example, I have been wanting a pair of velvet Gucci mules for years. I know that most sell for between $400-$600, so when I saw a pink pair on sale for $296 I knew that was a stellar deal and bought them right away!

Only buy what you love!
