The Resale Stylist x Marmalade Lounge Workshop
On March 9th, 2023, I had the privilege of speaking with a group of fashion-and-sustainability-minded individuals at Marmalade Lounge & Boutique in Old Towne Arvada, just outside of Denver. This was a high-level workshop that covered a slew of “did you knows” about fashion resale, complete with questions, anecdotes , and explainers from audience members.

Our attendees included:
Those who love the thrill of "the bins" (IYKYK – but I’ll be honest, it’s not my thing)
High-end consignment shoppers (let’s hear it for RESEE, who was specifically highlighted by an audience member)
A mom whose young daughters earn and save through their Poshmark business
Local consignment shop owners (shout out to the fabulous, savvy business women of Old Town Exchange!)
Curious, practical, and fashion-forward consumers looking to learn more about sustainable style and circular fashion
Good sports who were totally dragged to this event by their friends
And more. :)

Working a crowd is rarely easy – working a crowd with varying levels of interest and understanding about a specific topic makes it all the more challenging. The goals of those who “shop the bins” and resell those finds on Pohsmark or Depop is totally different from the goals of those who casually shop the luxury bags on Fashionphile in their free time. This workshop was an exercise in taking the temperature of the room and getting to know a segment of the local fashion resale community here in Denver – and even those who usually don’t consider resale, but suddenly had a wealth of information at their fingertips that they couldn’t ignore.
Many, many thanks to the beautiful staff at Marmalade and the lovely attendees who made this workshop so fun and lively.
